Hollowbody 4 Stone Soup Folk Arts Foundation has recently been awarded an Arts Organizational Support Grant from Mayor James E. Doyle and the City of Pawtucket.

Hollowbody 4 Thank You to all who answered Stone Soup Coffeehouse’s Call to Action! During the month of January 2008, Stone Soup conducted an underwear drive for The Shelter At St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Hollowbody 4 Stone Soup thanks all those who donated blood and registered through the Rhode Island Blood Center and the National Marrow Donor Program during the Pawtucket Arts Festival on September 15 and 16, 2007.

Hollowbody 4 Some Stone Soup shows begin with a HOOT (otherwise known as an Open Mike.) Four performers take the stage for one song each. Sign-ups are on the day of the show and begin during ticket sales. Come early to sign up!

Hollowbody 4 The concert on September 22 with Lucie Blue Tremblay was a special fund-raising event called The Breast Exam Project, which raises awareness about breast cancer and encourages and informs women about the importance of early detection and yearly breast exams and mammographies. Five dollars from the sale of each ticket for September 22 will be directly donated to the Breast Exam Project.

Hollowbody 4 Stone Soup Folk Arts Foundation is part of the Rhode Island community. We periodically conduct charity drives. During the 2006-2007 year we had two (2) drives: a toiletry and diaper drive for New Hope For Families in Pawtucket; an underwear and socks drive for the shelter at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Hollowbody 4 Congratulations to Bill Harley, winner of a 2007 Grammy for his CD Blah Blah Blah: Stories About Clams, Swamp Monsters, Pirates and Dogs. Bill is one of the Founding Members of Stone Soup.
